Report on One Day Visit to Traffic Management Center

07 November 2025

On November 7, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, students of GRV BMA College participated in the Safe Roads Challenge, organized in collaboration with Yi Bengaluru (Young Indians) at the Traffic Management Center. The event was conducted under the guidance of S. Karthik Reddy, IPS, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Bengaluru, and aimed to promote road safety awareness, civic responsibility, and innovative ideas for safer streets. During the session, students were introduced to the BTP Astram App, which allows citizens to register, report traffic violations, and even experience being a traffic police officer for a day. They were also given an exclusive tour of the Traffic Management Center’s Control Room, where they witnessed real-time traffic monitoring and learned how technology aids in managing congestion and road safety. Additionally, students visited the Traffic Management Museum, which showcased the evolution of traffic systems in Bengaluru, followed by a live demonstration on Infantry Road, where they observed ongoing traffic movement and discussed possible improvements for smoother and safer road conditions. The event provided students with valuable insights into the functioning of the city’s traffic management system and the importance of responsible road behavior. GRV BMA College is proud to be part of such meaningful initiatives that encourage students to take active leadership in promoting road safety, civic responsibility, and social awareness.
