Industrial Tour to Lazza Ice Creams

Recently the students of MBA were taken for an Industrial visit on 16th March 2018 to Lazza Ice Creams in Kumbalgodu Industrial Estate, Mysore Road.

During the visit the students were toured inside the Plant. The students got full knowledge about the production, sales, purchase, procedure of making delicious ice creams. They also learnt about the manufacturing process and its special storing conditions.

They were also briefed about the History of Lazza Ice Creams by the Operations Manager. He also stated that the company was founded in 1972 by Mr. M C John a retired senior bureaucrat in the Kerala Government. It is currently led by Mr. Simon John, his brother Francis John and their team of eminent directors.

The company is a pioneer in the ice cream industry in South India. The first factory was started in Kochi and today has over 28 factories spread across South India. The 22 factories put together has a production capacity that is among the top 5 in the country. The company has also started overseas operations in parts of Middle East and Africa.

Daily production in Bangalore is about 3 lakhs ice creams per day. The students had questions mainly on turnover, pricing and packaging. Overall the students had a great Industrial exposure on the nitty-gritty of an Ice Cream factory.
